My Family Wines

Each year Azienda Agricola Brigaldara produces approximately 250,000 bottles from the grapes grown on its 50 hectares of vineyards. We grow mostly indigenous grapes such as Garganega for the white wines and Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes for the red.
We produce three white wines: Garganega Garda and Soave (dry whites) and a sweet version Passito. A novelty is our fresh rosé wine, Dindarella, produced from the autochtonous grape variety Dindarella. However, the main production of our wines are the five reds: Valpolicella Classico, Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso, Amarone Classico, Amarone Case Vecie and the traditional sweet red wine Recioto. Via the following link www.brigaldara.it you can see the organoleptic card of each of our wines. We also produce olive oil under the DOP Veneto Valpolicella made with the Grignano and Favarol varieties, although this is mainly for personal consumption by the family.
Our philosophy has always been to produce quality wines which are representative of the territory in which they are produced. Because of this we are constantly striving to achieve balance in the vineyards and never force the plants to overproduce. The key moment which influences the quality of our wines is the start of the harvest. This moment is determined by constantly monitoring our vineyards to ensure that we harvest at just the right moment.
The winery has been expanded over the years all the while ensuring that the characteristics of our grapes are preserved throughout the processes. We pay close attention to the fermentation process to ensure that it is not forced and that the characteristics of the grapes are reflected in the resulting wine. The wine is matured in wooden casks of varying dimensions which are carefully chosen to guarantee that the aromas of the wine are not too heavily altered.
Our marketing philosophy has also remained unchanged over the years: to offer great quality, value for money wines. We avoid the temptation to increase prices when the market allows. Our approach to wine and wine-making has allowed us to become one of the most appreciated wineries in Italy and abroad. About 75% of our wines are exported, mainly to countries such as the USA, Canada, Switzerland, the UK, Germany and Scandinavia.
The winery Brigaldara has received various prestigious awards, such as the "Tre Bicchieri" in the 2010 Gambero Rosso Guide for the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2006 Brigaldara and Amarone della Valpolicella Case Vecie 2007. The latest award clinched by the Brigaldara winery is the Cinque Grappoli for the Amarone della Valpolicella Case Vecie 2007 in the Duemilavini Guide and "Tre Bicchieri" from the Gambero Rosso 2014 Guide with the Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva 2007.
Brigaldara is one of the 12 member wineries which united to form "Amarone Families" in 2009 with the aim of upholding the high standards of production of this wine which in recent times has been under severe market pressure. The 12 wineries carry out collective promotional activities around the world aimed at the trade and press. The launch event was held in London in October 2009. In 2010 the families also travelled to the US and Canada for a series of events. For news about upcoming Amarone Families events, please refer to www.amaronefamilies.it
